Rolf Lockwood has been writing about trucks and trucking for 39 years. He is Vice President, Editorial at Newcom Media, publishers of Today’s Trucking and Transport Routier magazines, as well as the award-winning TodaysTrucking.com website He reaches the fleet and owner-operator communities in both English and French Canada.
In addition, Rolf produces the fortnightly e-newsletter, The Lockwood Report, which is syndicated in the U.S. and has an international audience.
He’s also a founding partner in Newcom, which launched Today’s Trucking in 1987. Based in Toronto, Newcom owns three other business-to-business magazines and Canada’s largest trucking expositions, Truck World and Expocam.
As well, Rolf is a Contributing Editor on Heavy Duty Trucking magazine and its TruckingInfo.com website, published in the U.S. by Newport Communications of California.
In all, he reaches a readership of some 250,000 truck users and manufacturers, predominantly in North America, and specializes in the hardware of trucking — the trucks themselves and the components big and small of which they’re comprised.
In 2012 Rolf was given the Lifetime Achievement Award by Truck Writers of North America, his second such honour. In 2003, he was named by the Canadian Business Press Association as winner of the Harvey Southam Lifetime Editorial Achievement Award, a major prize given only occasionally. He has also won several gold and silver Kenneth R. Wilson Memorial Awards for journalism.
Rolf is a member of the U.K.-based Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation and of the Technology and Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Associations.
