Thursday, April 15 - 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
Meeting the Modern Challenge of the Vocational Truck
Spec’ing today’s vocational truck is a new challenge that demands a lot of knowledge, and this seminar will examine the key areas that need to be addressed, above and beyond the basic performance requirements. New technologies like hybridization and exhaust aftertreatment, for example, sometimes place difficult demands on the manufacturer of the vocational truck to create designs that account for the loss of space and payload. The vehicle must also comply with many and various new regulations, both federal and provincial. The goal is building a truck that goes to work legally and safely.

Who should attend:
Work Truck Operators
Moderator:
Don Moore,
Executive Director, CTEA
Speaker:
Eddie Tschirhart,

Fleet Forum — Sleep Issues: the Coming Regulatory Regime
Drivers will soon be tested for sleep disorders in much the same way they’re now tested for drug and alcohol abuse. Arising out of the U.S. but with a Canadian test regime coming too, this development has the potential to disrupt fleet operations in significant ways because conditions like sleep apnea may affect as many as a quarter of the driving population. This is an absolutely must-attend session.

Rolf Lockwood, Vice President, Newcom Business Media

And Michelin invites fleet managers and owner-operators, especially those who haul to and from the U.S., to hear the latest on the X One product and the role that tires play in helping to reduce fuel consumption.
